As the smartphone market continues to expand and evolve, it can be challenging to keep up with all of the latest and greatest devices. That’s why we’ve created the Smartphone Categories 2022, a comprehensive review of the top phones from the past year. From flagships to midranges to budget phones and even specialty and folding phones.

For the “Best Big Phone” category, we have to give it to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. This device impressed us with its large 6.8 inch display, inclusion of a stylus, and impressive cameras. We also want to give an honorable mention to the ASUS ROG Phone 6 for its specialized design and great speakers.

In the “Best Small Phone” category, we were impressed by the ASUS Zenfone 9. This compact device boasts impressive specs and was a pleasant surprise with its strong battery life. We also want to give a runner up nod to the iPhone 14 Plus for its massive battery and wireless charging capabilities.

When it comes to value, the Realme GT stands out as the clear winner in the “Best Value” category. This budget phone offers high-end specs at a much more affordable price point than many of its competitors. We also want to give a runner up nod to the OnePlus 9 for its impressive specs and competitive price.

The “Best Design” category was a tough one to decide, as many phones seem to blend together in terms of looks. However, we were drawn to the unique design of the Nothing Phone, with its transparent look and glyph interface with light-up notifications.

Overall, it was a great year for smartphones with a range of options to suit different needs and budgets. We hope our categories have helped you narrow down your search for the perfect phone.
